The Department
The Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology in Freiburg focusses on global social and (inter)cultural dynamics. It is characterized by research on global issues and a broad spectrum of courses on Asia, Africa and Latin America. Both teaching and research at the department are excellently linked to a wider interdisciplinary and international network. Within the offered courses at undergraduate as well as post-graduate level, students acquire methodological, theoretical as well as hands-on expertise, which qualifies them for various relevant fields of work within society and the global world.

Master of Arts Ethnologie
Studying in the M.A. program will enable you to develop your own scientific profile. At the same time you can acquire direct practical experience by conducting your own fieldwork projects or taking part in guided fieldresearch exercises and current research projects.
